http://www.awardspace.com actually works. I use it right now. So no doubts there. You will have to spend some time getting acquainted to their system. Since it is a free service, at times, access to the web pages hosted there is denied... This happens very rarely...

Once you have signed up, click on the website manager. There you will see an option for ftp manager. There, create an FTP account. After that, download Filezilla and use that to upload files to the server using the FTP username/password that you just created.

I hope that solves it. Post more questions about awardspace.com if you are unable to understand their interface.

Unless you have Photoshop Extended, you probably won't have access to any of the 3D functionality. If you're looking to just draw it out like a blueprint, Photoshop would work fine but it's very much overkill.

You can find a lot of applications written specifically for this task at your local Staples or Office Max, etc., for like $ 30 or so. They even have pre-made objects like windows and doors. Some even have textures and furniture to help you visualize the house better - or even come with a landscape planning tool.

If someone owns the copyright, he can release it to the public - that's the law. If it's not released to the public, it can't be distributed. Whether it's been hacked or not is irrelevant. An open source program, modified and released, is still an open source program and it's still legal.

enhancing, touch-ups, and makeovers can be done in phhotoshop and other editors,

basic retouching may be simple as only adjusting colour correction and lighting, no real touch-ups,
that would be enhancing original image, which is best to be full size in megapixels from camera, as jpg or raw,

http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/10.0/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-765d.html

retouching would be to use Clone stamp and Healing tool, to cover and repair or replace unwanted items or glitches, also the Content Aware tool for larger areas,

Content Aware (only newer photoshop,)

for make-overs, you could look at using healing tool, and hen filters and airbrushing techniques, sometimes it is better to patch small blemishes, before doing a whole section in mask, finding small errors after creating several layers of edits, could mean undoing or adding repeated edits over again,

A good tip for saturation is to use a gaussian blur layer! When we introduce saturation the colours tend to 'block out' in the picture and though this is usually due the the fact we have tried to introduced to much saturation sometimes we want a very colourful picture.
To avoid colours blocking and and losing detail in the picture simply copy the layer, add the blur effect to this layer, say 5 and set the new layer to colour in the blending mode options and you'll find you can saturate the picture much more without losing detail and getting that horrible blocking effect.
