I realized INT(1) works fine.
I don’t have BOOL on phpmyadmin at the server (neither can I bring up to date) – what do I have to do then? Can I use VARCHAR?

Just add the code to the page (remember PHP tags!) and then change the file extension to .php
e.g. pointer.php
