Before the sale of any logo/graphic/website is finalized, have a watermark or faint text that says “Copyright of _______) all the way across the design. This allows customers to view the design but cannot just copy it. When the sale is finalized remove the copyright mark.

1) graphic designers can design some thing special for you where as web designers may be more focused on programming.

2) web designers will probably have a clearer and better understanding of how a web site works, user experience as well as search engine optimisation skills which may be lacking if you go with a graphic design company.

3) We designers may offer you some thing in the way of social media add ons and current web trends which a graphic design studio may be aware of but may not know how yto integrate it in to their site architecture. Plus a web company will be able to assist you in the process of site architecture and mapping out your navigation.

4) Graphic designers may have the edge when it comes to making your site look diiferent and unique where as a web design company might be more inclined to offer you a template design solution which is really not what you want if you are trying to look different and unique.

These are just a few points that you can use to see the marked difference between the two types of comapnies but if you are after some thing that will last well for your business you may want to go with a company that is able to successfully combine the two very separate areas of web and graphic design. There are many of these types of companies out there but as prudent business owner it is up to you to do your home work and uncover these gems. Can anyone recommend places we should tour? Anyone out there actually work for one of the companies? We will be staying at a hotel in Seattle Center and will need the companies to be within walking distance, or be able to use public transportation to get there. Thanks for the help!

Google companies, see who you like or looks good and contact them. Many web design companies will not allow visitors without appointments and also many may be much smaller than they look online. You’ll want to visit them based on the type of projects they complete so looking at their own websites will be the first thing to do. Then see if they are based near your hostel.

Web Designing ( is for designing for web applications ) i.e websites its color, page height and length, text and the look of the web page and so on. But then graphic design is designing animation cartoons or editing a photograph of abraham Lincoln into color and doing other stuff.

Web design is pretty much what it sounds like- it’s designing for the internet, whether it’s creating websites or working in programs like Flash. Also, you do have to be some what creative when designing websites, but I know some web design majors who prefer the coding part rather than the design part.

Graphic design is designing mostly for print, with some designing for the web (ex: banner ads). In graphic design you can do numerous things like working on layouts for magazines, creating logos or designing packaging for consumer goods.

As far as income goes, it all depends on where you live, how much experience you have and what your job title is. A junior designer obviously won’t be making as much as a senior designer or an art director. You’ll just have to do some of your own research to figure out how much a graphic designer makes versus a web designer.

I will tell you from personal experience that there does seem to be a lot more web design jobs out there. I majored in graphic design and although I enjoy what I do, its been really tough finding a full-time job, but hopefully the economy will get better soon!
