How do I allow parsing of PHP scripts in .html pages?

I’ve tried Web Options>Web Service>Settings.. and added “.html” to the list. But now my .html pages display the source code rather than displaying the html and parsing the php scripts.

Please help? Changing the filenames to “.php” is too cumbersome, have to update all links.

are you sure that you have used the correct tags to start and end php blocks. Have you also checked the make sure that your host does offer php?

If yes toboth questions above then you will have to change the filenames unfortunately.

Well, converting them into html probably wouldn’t apply, maybe for some simple tasks. It really defeats the purpose of using php though.

Chances are you either need to simple place the php in the html where needed, or include the files, in either case you’ll need to save those files as .php

I found HTML and CSS easy to learn and very useful but I found javascript the opposite. Javascript just seems confusing and worthless. I wanted to use javascript for adding dynamics to my websites like slideshows and moving picture galleries but all javascript tutorials just teach me how to make alert boxes and worthless stuff.

you need flash! to do galleries …well good ones at least…Java is more for like running applications in the client’s side.
if you wanna add some picture galleries or animation i recommend embedding flash objects…i use Adobe’s Flash …not good at it yet but trying

HTML itself is a markup language, it has no way to process anything. At the very least you need CGI or some other scripting language like PHP, ASP, etc.

OK, so I run this website, and we’ve been doing a lot of re-designs of it to make it look better. What makes it annoying is that when we re-design, we have to go through and manually update each page to look like the others.

So, someone suggested that we switch over to CSS. So, I took how the site currently looks, imported it into notepad, and now I need a way that I can convert it into a CSS style sheet, can someone help me out?

You absolutely should use CSS. The problem you describe is EXACTLY what CSS was designed to handle.
Here is the link to w3schools.com section on how to use it. It’s pretty easy to figure out, so not to worry. It will be worth your while.

Just put a pair of style tags in the head, copy the style sheet and paste it between the tags.

But why? Just include the css file.

Create your form with something like the following as the form’s action and method.

Now create login.php with the following.

session_start();
$ _SESSION['name'] = $ _POST["name"];
echo $ _SESSION['name'];
?>

You should be able to utilize $ _SESSION['name'], throughout the entire user’s session.
